Random Pics

EDITED TO ADD: Oh, yeah, and Mommy got glasses...

We've been busy lately...no surprise there!!

With school, work, church & trying to get some much needed family time in there, we've been going, going, going.

The kids FINALLY went back to school last Tuesday after a full week off because of cold & snow. Yay for no more new snow lately!! Will keeps asking me "Is spring NEXT month Mom? PLEASE?" Yes, we can't wait for spring!

Here are some random pics from life lately:

Both munchkins got new sunglasses - our new van's windows aren't as tinted as the kids are used to so there's been much complaining about "TOO BRIGHT!" Will's are YODA (his new obsession is Star Wars) and Morgan's are Disney Princess - the first Disney Princess thing I've bought her and I'm SURE not the last :).

Will and I had TONS of fun recently at the Iowa Children's Museum. It's an awesome place where kids can play, shop, make things, destroy things, etc... we LOVE it.

Both kids also recently finished gymnastics. They had a great time and it was a wonderful way to burn off some energy on those days that they couldn't go outside. I don't have any pics of baby sis, since I was in class with her but here's Will on the bars!

How Cold Is It?

UPDATE: It has never been as cold in Cedar Rapids as it was this morning at 7:51. -29 UGH!

Original Post: The wind chill was 51 degrees below zero around 5 a.m. this morning in Cedar Rapids, as the mercury plummeted to record-breaking levels. It's leading the National Weather Service to use terms like "dangerous" and "life-threatening." A 93-year-old record low was tied Wednesday, when the actual temperature reached minus 22 just before midnight, according to the weather service. A record low will be set today, as well. It dipped to minus 26 this morning, breaking the 1994 record of minus 23.

Let's keep in mind the low in Cedar Rapids this morning was minus 26 degrees. The low this morning at the South Pole was minus 18 degrees, and minus 16 at the North Pole!!!

The kids haven't had school since Tuesday and won't be back at school until at least Tuesday (teacher work days were already scheduled for Friday & Monday). I'll let you know when we thaw out! :)

Lots of the white stuff...

Nine inches! NOT a good time for the snowblower to die!

Will had an awesome time conquering the mountains of snow with his new snow tube.

Munchkins chilling watching cartoons this morning.

Baby sis ready to go...with her Minnie Mouse backpack, footie jams & brother's Prairie Hawk hat! :)

Happy New Year

2008 is like a blur....and it's already over. 2009 seems like a gift just waiting to be unwrapped. I can't wait to see what's inside!

Happy New Year!
