Prayer for Today 1/24

EVERYTHING FALLS by Fee

You said you'd never leave or forsake me

when you said, this life is gonna shake me

and you said this world is gonna bring trouble on my soul

this I know

Chorus:

When everything falls apart

your arms hold me together

when everything falls apart

you're the only hope for this heart

when everything falls apart

and my strength is gone

I find you mighty and strong

you keep holding on

you keep holding on

When I see darkness all around me

when I see that tragedy has found me

I still believe your faithful arms will never let me go

and still I know

Chorus: When everything falls apart your arms hold me together when everything falls apart you're the only hope for this heart when everything falls apart and my strength is gone I find you mighty and strong you keep holding on you keep holding on

Bridge:

Sorrow will last for the night

but hope is rising with the sun(it’s rising with the sun)

and there will be storms in this life

but I know you have overcome

You have overcome

Chorus: When everything falls apart your arms hold me together when everything falls apart you're the only hope for this heart when everything falls apart and my strength is gone I find you mighty and strong you keep holding on you keep holding on

A New Year

There are lots of resolutions to be made, whether it's resolving to lose weight, hit the gym, give up (insert here), start (insert here), stop (insert here)....you get the point. And then there are others who resolve NOT to make a resolution! I'm not exactly the 'resolving' type, but the new year is always a time to reevaluate and try to take a good HONEST look at myself. Where can I improve? What am I doing well...as a wife, as a mother, as a friend? With those things in mind, I'm jotting down some goals for the new year...hopefully not just for January. I want to look back on this in December 2011 and see where God has led me through the year. * I want to listen. REALLY listen before speaking...and then THINK before speaking. * I want to spend less and live more. My life is not about THINGS. I want my treasures to be where my heart lies. With God, and with my family. * I want to be in the moment with my husband and kiddos. I don't want to be distracted by things, or people, or events that don't matter. For me it's a very small but practical step of turning off my phone :) * I want to remember that my kids won't be kids forever. They're already growing so quickly! So the moments when we can't get out of the house on time, or can't find our shoes, or gloves, or hat (or whatever it is that moment), or the "Mom, I'm bored" won't last forever. And yes, I'll miss those moments when they're gone. I'm going to try to stick to this list and maybe add to it during the year? Simpler, more loving, more forgiving in 2011? Yes, please!
