Christmas Day - 12/25

Merry Christmas! This is how they waited for us to give the OK to come upstairs....think they were excited? Will got a bow & arrow from Santa and Morgan got a Doctor's kit. Arrows have flown at all of us and we've all received "brain shots" from Dr. Morgan. I believe she also diagnosed Grandpa with a cavity, ear infection, and in need of ear tubes. :)Playdough, doll furniture and a doll house were the highlights for Miss M.Will got Beatles Rock Band, so we've all been practicing. If you hear me humming "Yellow Submarine" or "8 days a week", you now know why.

We had some family pictures taken recently and were thrilled with the results!

Yikes! - December 15th

It's been awhile! What have we been up to?
Knee surgery recovery
Building a playset (almost done!)

Hanging out with friends
Thanksgiving
Family Pictures
Christmas shopping
and on and on and on

We're excited about the 7 day break that Eric & I have from work over our holiday shutdown.

Monday 11/15 Knee Surgery

Thankfully, last Monday (11/15), Eric had an arthroscipy on his right knee. He's had lots of pain since a fall on the ice a few years ago and it's gotten much worse over the last few months. We're grateful that the doctor felt he was able to clean out a lot of the torn cartilige and meniscus. Eric's on crutches for the next few weeks as he heals.

Saturday 11/6

On Saturday we had the most perfect weather for the Omaha Zoo. We were SO blessed to have highs in the mid 60s and bright sunshine all day. The Desert Dome was new since I had been there and was incredible!
Morgan & Will waiting for the "Alaska" IMAX showGrandma got the stroller and the stuffed shark (of Will's) that's bigger than Morgan. We LOVED the penguins, the aquarium and the gorilla house. We had our very own "Funky Monkey" with us for the day :)The big cats were beautiful. I was glad there was glass between us.Here's how Will and Morgan spent most of the day...holding Grandpa's hand or trailing him every step of the way. :)This may be a Christmas card pic! Good of everyone!!

Friday 11/5

Today was a day off of school so we headed west early this morning. The destination was the SAC (Strategic Air Command) museum west of Omaha.
This spy plane greeted us as we walked in the door:
The kids loved the flight trainer and navigation set up:
This is the closest I ever want to be to a thermonuclear hydrogen bomb: the case!
Will with a 2000 pound bomb casing:
My dad was part of the SAC when he was in the Air Force and we were lucky to see one of the enormous planes he flew during that time - the B-52.
As luck would have it (for Will) there was a Star Wars exhibit there while we were visiting: This was a replica of the Apollo ship that carried the astronauts back to earth.
We had a great visit to the museum and can't wait to go back!

Thursday 11/4

Will's 1st and 2nd grade music program was tonight. He was wonderful! We were so proud of him. He had a singing solo and he also got to play one of the "barred" instruments
(yeah, I can't remember which one)! Nana came over to see the performance and we were glad she did!

Tuesday 10/26

We had a great time with our small group last night as we got together to eat, chat, carve pumpkins and decorate cookies. We joined this group in early September and are loving the new friends we've made and the chance to study God's word in a small group environment!
Love the pumpkin guts! Will's working hard! The finished face:Morgan and her cookie face :)This is our good friend, Mike. He's actually very nice and non-threatening. :)
